Skirting

Phase one involves skirting your fiber to effectively remove any vegetation that has become embedded in the wool. This essential step ensures the quality of the fiber, preparing it for further processing. carefully eliminating unwanted materials, we maintain the integrity and cleanliness of your wool for the best results.

Tumble

Your fiber is then tumbled in our large tumbler for 30 minutes to an hour, effectively removing any loose dirt vegetation. This process further prepares the fiber for the next step, ensuring a clean and high-quality end product.

Wash

team carefully places your fiber in our commercial washing, where it undergoes a thorough cleaning process. The fiber is washed at a precise temperature of 185 degrees, effectively removing dirt and oils to ensure the highest quality results.

Drying Racks

After completing the washing process, we air dry the fiber to prevent any felting of the wool. This careful method ensures the quality and integrity of the fibers are maintained, resulting in a superior final product. Our commitment to proper drying techniques reflects our dedication to craftsmanship and excellence.

Picker

After the fiber has completely dried, it is processed through our picker, which expertly pulls the apart and separates them. This ensures that each strand is treated individually before receiving conditioning treatments. Our careful approach enhances the quality and texture of the fibers, preparing them for their next stage in production.

Fiber Seperator

The next step in the process involves the fiber separator, which effectively removes any remaining guard hairs and vegetable matter that may have been overlooked during conditioning. This ensures that the fiber is clean and ready for the subsequent stages of production. By maintaining high standards in fiber preparation, we enhance the quality of the final product.

Carder

The next step in processing your fiber is to run it through the carder. This machine separates randomly placed fibers from each other, aligning them individually and producing a continuous web at the output end. This web can be transformed into batts, ideal for quilts and felting. Alternatively, it can be consolidated into roving, which is further processed into yarns.

Draw Frame

The draw frame plays a crucial role in the textile manufacturing process by transforming rovings from the carder into a consistent and uniform roving. This process not only ensures that the size remains even throughout its length but also aligns the fibers to each other, resulting in a stronger roving. This enhancement makes the roving easier to process in subsequent stages, improving the overall quality of the final product.

Spinner

The spinner efficiently draws in the rovings, guiding them through precise drafting system that produces an exceptionally consistent fiber stream. This fiber stream is expertly twisted into a single strand of yarn, which is then neatly stored on bobbins for future use.

Plyer
